Your Credit Report Status

Your credit report status can be one of the most important pieces of information that you can know when it comes time to get a loan, a credit card or any credit based services, even ranging down to phone and utility contracts.

But how can you go about finding out what your credit report status actually is and what can you do about it once you have the information in your hands? Luckily it doesn’t have to be as difficult as you think it might be.

All you really have to do is to get in contact with any of the three major consumer reporting companies and ask. Once a year, those companies are legally obliged to supply you with a free credit report if you ask for it. If you like, you can even get a combined report that will spell out your credit standing from all three of those comnpanies.

But what do you do then?

Well, armed with a good credit score, you suddenly get access to cheaper loans and credit cards and don’t have to suffer the embarrassment of getting rejected for credit based services.

But don’t worry - if your credit report isn’t up to scratch, there’s plenty you can do about it.

After you have taken a look, you might like to consider getting in touch with a professional credit repair company. They will know the items in your credit report that are worth disputing and they also know the best ways of going about disputing them. This can save you time and in the long run, money, but you can also go through the proces syourself without spending anything.

You basically, just need to look at your report and sort all of the items on it that you think are not 100% accurate or are ins some way misleading.

Armed with that information you can then approach the relevant consumer reporting agency who was responsible for reporting those specific items on your credit report.

They will be more than happy to look at the items you are disputing and investigate a possible ammendment to your report. You can increase the chances of this happening by also providing them with any documentary evidence that you might have that would support your dispute.

After that, they will usually get back to you with a new copy of your credit report with the disputed items ammended, if they found in your favor.

And that is basically the way you can improve your credit report status.
