Credit Check Agency - Make Sure You Don’t Get Scammed

There is an ever incrfeasing amount of ways to get caught out on the net these days.

It’s unpoliced and as soon as the police shut one site down another one rears it’s ugly head.

Credit Check Agencies are big business. There are three main ones in America and they all attract some undesirable business practices. One of these services is aimed at people who need to fix their bad credit report.

They typically offer the following promises.

  • “Credit problems? Yeah No problem!”
  • “We can totally erase your bad credit — 100% guaranteed.”
  • “Create a new credit identity — legally.” (yeah right)
  • “We remove bankruptcies, judgments, and bad loans from your credit file forever!”

If you see these claims then avoid them like the plague. There are all untrue statement and will get you in so much trouble.

Even for companies that don’t make these wild claims then you need to ask these type of services some simple questions, getting their responses will then determine if they are legitimate.

1. Do they try and charge you for service that have not been carried out?
Never pay upfront for service that have not been completed.

2. Try and charge you upfront account creation fees
Like the point above this is also a clear warning sign, they might even say you will receive training books and documentation so that is why they are charging, so no, and run for the door!

3. Avoid the 3 day Cooling Off Period
If they try and perform services until they have your actual signature on a written contract and have also completed a three-day waiting period. See in this 3 day period you have the right to cancel the contract without paying any fees

4. Get You To Create Another Identity
This is a big warning, you cannot create another “clean” identity - this can lead to criminal prosecution for your and the credit rating fixing company.

You need to Also ask the following Questions:

1. Address
Check what their address is, some websites will not have address details of a physical office, this is a clear warning sign.

2. Guarantee
What do they actually promise. Ask them and get them to define each promise so you can match it to the tasks completed after the project. They should not be able to increase your score by a set amount, nothing in the credit score fixing business can be guarantees.

I hope these tips help you to be careful about companies that promise to fix your credit report. The best way to fix your credit report is the legitimate way, read other articles on this site to get all the tips and tricks you need.
