With that credit report in your hands, you now have a launch pad for firing your credit report score from average to excellent.

All you need to do from then, is identify the problem items on your credit report. You are especially interested in teh items that are factually not 100% correct or could give a misleading idea of the item in question. These are the areas that you can target for improvement on your credit report.

Once you have that list, you then need to itemize it in a letter with an explantion of why each of the items you are contesting should be changed. If you can produce some copies of evidence such as payment receipts or statement, you stand a better chance of success.

Next step is to send off you letter to the consumer reporting agency that was reponsible for the incorrect item (this means you may need to send 3 letters as there are 3 companies who can each record different items).

The company will investigate you claims and make any relevant changes to your credit report.
